    How this guy keeps getting work is totally beyond me. You may as well cast Vinnie Jones as the Hitcher, they've got equal amounts of acting talent. (Actually I think Vinnie would do a better job).

    Sean Bean's casting doesn't matter to me. But like you, I don't honestly see the point of a remake of The Hitcher. How can anyone hope to even come close Rutger Hauer's absolutely stunning and iconic performance in the original?

    Exactly Josiah: Bean doesn't have the presence, or power, and is far less imposing on screen than Hauer. It's a pointless remake, with some moronic casting decisions. But should we be surprised? The same company is doing a remake of The Birds!

    They are doing *what*??? Remaking The Birds? How can anyone even begin to think that a remake of The Birds is a good idea? Honestly, I've heard it all now...
